ACO 5.0 Visual Statement

Our topic is self-esteem and insecurities. It is important because this issue is relevant to teens and many youth now days are constantly comparing themselves to others. The goal of our project is to show our audience that they are not alone, and just about everyone has insecurities. Our goal for this project is to create a two to three minute visual statement that gives our audience our personal view about this issue. My team members are Taylor and Isabella. Taylor is our filmmaker and Isabella is our actor.

While working in Final Cut Pro a great editing tool is "command" + "b" : a short cut for blading a scene. In addition, "command" + "z" is a great shortcut to undo actions. It is important to use FCPX libraries, Events, and Projects properly because you want to keep your work organized and separated from other people's work to avoid confusion. Audio levels on different clips can vary as a result of the distance from the camera, volume of speech, and location. To correct the balance of the audio, you're able to drag the audio bars below the film clips up or down for different levels of volume. I believe the video quality is higher than the audio quality because the minor background noise that came from outside the recording studio.

The biggest challenge we faced while working on this project was team member absences. This meant that other team members would be in charge of working on the assignment the absent person is responsible for. Although our team struggled in the beginning we managed to get through to the end and had a great time working with each other. We all pitched in to help each other and no one was a hinderance to the work effort. The most enjoyable part of this project, for me, was filming with classmates i've never worked with before and getting to see the finished project. I agree with the critique results we received. One thing we could have done to make our project more improved was having better sound quality and being a little more creative.

ACO 1.0 Modern Art Movement

The cultural movement that gave rise to Installation Art is conceptualism and performing arts. The influence Installation art has on the arts and communications industry is by interacting with the viewers and displaying art pieces from different perspectives. Artists contribute cultural and societal needs by creating artwork that influences society and constructing pieces of art in extraordinary ways. Many installation artists create installation sculptures for airports, museums, and everyday places. These art pieces bring color into communities and brings a variety of meaning. I personally like this type of art because it engages with the viewers and creates unique views.

"Matter Of Time" created by artist Richard Serra. In this art piece Richard took a new view of constructing art, he wanted to create art that interacted with its viewers and encountering them with multiple perspectives. I believe a single artist can persuade someone's perception. Artist's perspectives are very unique and the nature of the artists production, creates differing art pieces. In my opinion, I believe advancement in technology has aided skilled art production. It aids skilled art production because it brings creativity to the mind and reshapes ordinary art into mind-blowing creations.

ACO 7.0 Workplace Safety Video

Our project goal is to make a workplace safety video that shows tips and methods to ensure that no personal injuries or illnesses occur in a working establishment. For our topic, we chose avoiding stress and burnout. The people on our team is Cara, she is the scriptwriter and Filmer. Next, we have  Kiara and Shaila, as our actresses, and finally me as the narrator. I feel like the person that deserves special recognition for the whole project would have to be Cara because she constructed most of the script and gave her best work throughout the whole filming process. But, all in all everybody on the team gave their best effort trying to make this video a success.

This project made me realize how important it is to make a safety video for any workplace because safety is the number one rule in a working environment. I learned that workplace safety is required to ensure that all employees are safe. While creating a video production it is important to keep the main idea as the focus point and to create a production that captures the audiences attention. I also learned that communication is key in making a good film because you want to know what the actors are trying to portray and what each person will be contributing to the video creation process. Our highest score we received was a three point five out of a four on relevance of visuals. Our lowest score, entertainment value scoring at a three point two out of four. One thing we could have done differently to increase production value was have more time to film the production and to create a better voiceover that's clear and efficient.

ACO 7.1 Analyze the beneficial effects that safe and healthy work habits have on productivity that improve workplace efficiency.
ACO 7.2 Apply practices to maintain a safe and healthy work environment in relation to careers in the Arts and Communication Pathway.

ACO 5.0 Coding Altino Cars

Coding is important to learn even if you don't plan to be a programmer because it boosts your attention to detail and precision. Challenge one is to complete a figure eight without any collisions, fastest team wins. Our logic statement, go straight with a speed seven hundred, turn wheels right and hold turn for .2 seconds, then go straight with the same speed, turn right and then left, continue going straight with a speed of seven hundred, finally turn left ending at the finish line. In this Arduino Software coding project we used three different commands Go, Steering, and Delay. Command Go, putting the car in motion, Command Steering, the direction of the cars motion, and Command delay, stoping the cars motion. Through this process of trial and error our team ran into many obstacles and had to edit our coding process along the way. Overall, I felt confident about our team's work and knew that we could make it through if we all worked together as a team.

The new command that we used for challenge #2 were while loop. We used while loop for the sound effects of the ambulance sirens. I would never trust an autonomous vehicle to give me a ride because you never now when the coding can glitch and cause and accident. Im pretty sure that autonomous vehicles will take over complex tasks in the future like ambulance response and police control. It will be a more efficient way to get to areas that need fast acting systems and will eventually be a better system paramedics may use in the future to get to the scene quicker. Autonomous vehicles will also be a big help for deaf or blind people, it'll help them get to places and will make it way easier for them to travel the roads.

ACO 3.0 Art and Design

The Elements of Art that are used in my digital Still Life painting is line, texture, and value. I used the line element in my project to trace the figure of my still life image. I also used a little bit of value on the sizing of the lines and used textured features on the background paper. The part of the digital process I found most enjoyable was the hand drawing part of this project. The part I found most challenging was actually learning how to use the artist pad and pen. When hovering over the pad it can go to different places if you don't place the pen in the right position also precision is a big part in the hand drawing process of this project.

My landscape image was taken at the Oceanfront view at Bull Shed Restaurant. On my original image its settle with black and white, but on my finished image there's more contrast within the rocks and the waves. During the process of my landscape image I stayed more with the basic tutorials to refine my image. The techniques that I used never affected the outcome of my image but made it even better. The levels scale was very helpful during this process it helped with the highlights and shadows within my image. I really enjoyed the smart filter because it gave me the advantage to go back to a single layer to edit any part I wanted to edit.

The portrait photo that I am using was taken down at Lydgate beach. My mom took this portrait photo of me so we could include it into my album. In this photo it shows wonderful background and a wide view of landscape. This image includes a few Elements of Art such as proportion, balance and alignment, and contrast. It uses proportion in the background and around the figures in the image because they relate with each other and balances out the view. Balance and Alignment and contrast is used throughout my image, contrast around the trees and bushes and Balance and alignment is used within the shadows and highlights of my image. My highest scored image was my landscape image. I agree with them because In this image I used basic tutorials and worked towards the highlights and shadows of the image. I disagree with the people that said it was novice. I disagree because my image was not incomplete and it also showed details within the figures. Photo Credit: Mother

ACO 5.0 Audio Production

Intonation and inflection can be used to maintain interest of the audience by the volume of voice and the way we produce our word function to interest the audience. My role in this assignment was the script writer and vocals. This job requires me to create the script and put detail into it that will interest the audience. I also contributed to the vocals, reading parts of the script and speaking as one of the characters. It is really important to rehearse the script to be prepared and to thoroughly read it over to be precise on our first recording. It also allows our teammates to know exactly what part of the script each of us need to read and what parts of the script we need to project our voice efficiently and forcefully.

Our team did an average job of meeting the goal of communicating a specific message to an audience. Also our audience was engaged pretty much throughout the audio track and graded us highly on our level of completion. Some of the obstacles we faced along the way was figuring out what we were going to include in our script, where to place the different recorded tracks, and what type of beats did we need to create in order for it to fit into the tracks. We overcame these obstacles by working together, having everyones opinions, and also listening to the different beats that were on Garage Band to find the perfect one. If I had to do this project again with the same group of people I would make the script more to the point, manage our time, and bring out more intonation and inflection within our voices.

ACO 6.0 Proprietary Information

The FCC is the Federal Communications Commission, they regulate and control interstate and international communications. Copyright infringement is when a copyrighted work is recreated and displayed without permission of the owner. The legal consequences of using material without permission is paying a fine or going to jail. It can carry fines from $200 to $1,500 for each piece of work that is infringed. You can easily get permission to use copyrighted materials by asking the owner. Fair use is any copyrighted material done for a specific purpose such as commentary or criticism. One specific example of using copyrighted material without permission that is legal is writing a book review, that has the principles that allow you to use some of the lines to reach your purposes. Another specific example of using copyrighted material without permission that's legal is quoting a few lines from a song to create a music review.

Confidentiality is to keep private and personal. Three examples that you must keep private is your phone number, social security number, and your location. Social media has a huge impact on confidential information because anyone can get a hold of the pictures you post online and many people are able to impersonate someone that they're not. I believe that censorship is a violation of people's rights. It relates to the first amendment because it violates our freedom of speech and prohibits the free exercise of the religions us people believe in. Censorship relates to the fifth amendment because it refers to the rights of privacy.
